FAQ'S
WHAT COUNTRY ARE EURITA'S MANUFACTURED IN?
Eurita clay bakers are proudly made in Portugal.
ARE THESE FREE OF HARMFUL CHEMICALS?
EURITA clay roasters are made and pass the highest safety regulation for Europe (Which are higher standards then USA). We also pass California Prop 65 testing. Reassure your clay baker container no lead, cadmium, fillers or petalite.
WHAT CAN I COOK IN A CLAY BAKER?
There isn't anything you can't cook in the Eurita clay baker. Meat dishes are obvious choices like beef, chicken, and pork. You can also expand your meat choices like ground meats to game. Try seafood like fish, shrimp, and scallops as well. Try making soups, chili, appetizers, desserts, and even bread.
HOW DO I COOK BREADS IN MY EURITA?
Bread baking is an art. So we recommend you visit a trusted friend called Breadtopia. They use clay pots with all or most of their recipes and styles. Visit their website at www.breadtopia.com or their youtube channel at http://www.youtube.com/@breadtopia
The instructions in our pots always call for you to place your pot into a cold oven. For bread bakers you want your clay pot pre-heated. It's no problem. Just put your pot into your cold oven and heat your clay roaster. Then remove from your oven (careful it is hot) and put your proofed bread into the heated clay pot.

WHAT IS THE BOTTOM GLAZE MADE FROM?
Eurita is glazed on the inside bottom half of the clay pot. This glaze is made up of a ground frit (glass) material that will restrict the clay from absorbing your food. This will then allow for an easier clean up and you will not have any food retention in the clay. This means you can cook beef in your pot one day and fish the next.
DOESN'T THE GLAZE ON THE BOTTOM REDUCE MY ABILITY TO STEAM?
Clay can either release steam or absorb liquids but not at the same time. For that reason we have glazed the base so the clay will not absorb your food juices and make cleaning difficult. The glass glaze blocks the base from becoming seasoned. This will also allow you to cook beef one night and fish the next. We keep the lid unglazed so that during the cooking process the soaked lid will release steam during the cooking process.
CAN EURITA REPLACEMENT PARTS WORK FOR ROMERTOPF OR SCHELEMMERTOPF CLAY POTS?
Unfortunately, no each template is different and you will not be able to get the right fit. Replacement parts for EURITA are available on this site.
HOW CAN I GET RID OF STAINS?
Seasoning will happen with your clay roaster, which is a safe natural process. However, if you would like to lessen the seasoning marks you try a "deep" cleaning.
Deep Cleaning
-Fill the lid 1/2 way to 3/4 full of water and put on a cookie sheet. Add about 2 TBSP of baking soda. Place in a cold oven and set temperature to 350 degrees and cook for 30 minutes. This boing water method will lessen your stains. Be careful when removing the boiling water in the lid from the oven. Discard water mixture and let the lid dry before storing away.
WHY DID MY GLAZE CRAZE IN THE BOTTOM?
Crazing is a term used to describe the small fractures in the glaze. It's only visible in the glaze and can not be seen on the other side of the pot. During the cooking process the clay will expand slightly and then contract when cooled. This will sometimes leave a crazed design in your glaze. This is not harmful or effect your cooking process. If your has more serious issues please contact customer service at Reston Lloyd via e-mail : info@restonlloyd.com with pictures of your issue so that we can help resolve your issue.
HOW DO I KNOW IF MY POT IS CRACKED?
If you have a crack in your clay roaster you should be able to see the visible crack from both sides of the pot. Some minor cracks will not leak and you can continue to use the pot. In these situation, we recommend cooking the pot on a cookie sheet. Contact customer service for additional assistance.
HOW LONG CAN I USE MY CLAY BAKER?
With proper care your clay pot should last a lifetime. If you feel the lid is no longer absorbing water as well, use our deep cleaning method.
HOW DO I WASH MY CLAY BAKER?
Cleaning by Hand: To clean the EURITA, wash with hot water, and mild dish washing liquid. Do no use harsh abrasives on the lid, since it is porous and unglazed. Cleaning with a stiff brush or non-abrasive sponge.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I GET MOLD IN MY CLAY BAKER?
In the event your clay roaster was either stored in a bad place and got mold or if they pot was put away wet, you just need to conduct a deep cleaning to get the pot thoroughly clean. See instruction on deep cleaning;
Deep Cleaning

DO I NEED TO BASTE WHEN USING A CLAY BAKER?
Basting is a technique used to keep liquids in contact with the top section of your food item. However, with EURITA the clay steaming process is always keeping moisture present during the cooking process.
WHY DOES IT NEED TO GO INTO A COLD OVEN?
EURITA clay roasters are able to handle high temperatures up to 500°D. The clay roaster just needs to rise to the require recipe temperature. The clay pot doesn't react well with extreme temperature changes. So we suggest putting the clay roaster in a cold oven. When you remove the pot, again avoid shock. Set your hot clay roaster on a kitchen towel or wooden cutting board. Avoid cold surfaces or cold sinks.
CAN I USE IT IN THE MICROWAVE?
YES, your EURITA is microwave safe (depending on the size of your pot and microwave oven). Our round versions work best for the microwave.
- Soak the lid of your EURITA
- Center clay pot in the middle of your microwave
- Do not slide it across the surface - the bottom is rough and could scratch the glass shelf.
- Always place the largest and thickest parts of food toward the outside of the dish.
- Foods can be stacked or arranged on top of each other if necessary.
- During cooking, stir or rearrange foods to expose all parts equally to heat.
- Select 8 minutes for 700 watt oven and 10 minutes for 600 wat oven. More time can always be added but overcooking in the microwave causes dehydration and makes the food dry and tough.
IS THIS STOVETOP OR GRILL SAFE?
EURITA is not safe for the stovetop or a grill.
